The Corrections Division administers the Jail system in San Benito County.

The 28,000 square foot jail facility, at 710 Flynn Road, Hollister,  opened on November 17, 1992 at a construction cost of $7 million.

The Facility provides inmate workers to various agencies around the county to assist with work projects. Approximately 32 Correctional Deputies, Sergeants and Administrative and Maintenance support, staff the Corrections Division. There are also Correctional Deputies assigned to Court Security and Prisoner Transportation. The rated capacity for the jail is 124 inmates.

The jail consists of two maximum-security modules with a capacity of 27 inmates each and two medium security modules with a maximum of 35 inmates each. The jail also houses female inmates in two separate housing units. One unit can house up to 10 medium female inmates. One maximum unit can house up to 8 females.

San Benito County’s inmate population averages about 100 persons at any given time.
